I stared at my computer for a good 45 minutes last night trying to think about something worth writing about. For the first time in my life, I have nothing to say. That’s why we are switching roles today. Instead of me entertaining – or at least attempting to entertain – you for two or three minutes today, it’s your turn to entertain me.
Feel free to share an interesting blog post, a funny picture, a hilarious video, or just some random fact of life that you think I (we) should be aware of.
Ah frick, who am I kidding, I can’t just leave you empty-handed. Don’t say I never did anything for ya…
p.s. For those of you that will be linking to your own blog posts –or other links around the interwebs– be aware that my blog will flag your comment as spam if there are more than two links in it.
Ooooo. I love role play.
But that’s probably not what we are talking about today on a PG-13 personal finance blog, eh?
That’s fun – a great way to see what everyone else writes or thinks about!
I wrote this post back in November but I was just reminded of it as hubby has asked for a raise this week – we’re still waiting to see what the answer is but hey, it’s better to try then to sit tight!
You Don’t Ask, You Don’t Get:

I was wondering if any of your readers play in the options market for stocks. It is one of my favorite ways to dabble in the stock market with less capitol risk but huge potential….
DN feels like it is too close to gambling (which I enjoy) so he does not risk it but in the 3 years I have been participating I have had the joy of paying capitol gains taxes because my investments do well. I have lost money a few times but I have come out a head each year.
If you don’t play with stock options is there another way that you risk a little capitol in hopes of some greater return?
5 things you may not know about me:
1) I have soloed in a Cessna 152, but had to stop shy of getting my Private Pilot’s License because I couldn’t afford the fly time training AND save of my wedding
2) I sang Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” in a High School Air Band Competition
3) My great-great-great-grand uncle was the first Deputy Prime Minister of Canada
4) More than 1 glass of wine (white or red) gives me a headache
5) I can almost touch the tip of my nose with my tongue
This video is from a blog I read, and I still go back to it from time to time because it makes me laugh so hard. They got boots for their dog to prevent her from having cold paws when they go snowshoeing or other snow activities. This is her first attempt getting up and walking in the doggie boots.

You talk about being a future home owner. I myself am one and I think everyone here should know about how to save almost 20% at home depot or Lowes. I rehabbed my entire house with this concept and put about 17k into it — but it would have been more like $21k if I had not have taken the actions I have:

The real stock market is convoluted and confusing and risky.
The fake Hollywood stock market is much more fun. http://www.hsx.com
Two million free fake dollars to invest as you see fit in movies, TV shows, celebrities, and awards.; I now basically understand what a put and a call are, thanks to this. And unlike the real stock market, it’s actually easy to understand why stocks are valued the way they are.
Have you seen Kristen Bell freak out over sloths? It’s the best thing I’ve seen online this week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=t5jw3T3Jy70
That just made me soooo happy. Thank you for sharing. lol I didn’t know anyone could be so excited over a sloth. I also feel so relieved to know that I’m not the only one with the tiny no-cry zone of 3-7.
Just because I am totally full of myself right now…I just completed P90X and I rocked it! On Day 4 of P90X2…yay me!

Awesome! I just ordered that literally 3 minutes ago! Have you done it already? Are the workouts more like 30-45 minutes?
Sometimes that happens! I write about 2 weeks ahead of time so I never freze up.

If Unicorns is the theme- then here’s a post for you- “Not Even In The Land Of Unicorns & Rainbows” (it’s a Dispute Resolution “reality check” response to an article I read about how to deal with financial arguments.)
